New Songs. New Artists. Not all music I listen to is appropriate for class but sometimes I fit it in. Here are a few tracks that get repeat play again and again and again. Two of the artists are new. One is a reunited UK band. Two are American up and coming talents. One is Australian. It’s a cultural exchange. Of course two of these tunes can’t be bought in the US so if you live stateside you have to wait or get creative.
Take That – Love Love
Take That and The Xmen, my two Favorite Things Rolled into ONE. The song is not included in the US movie release. Who knows why?
The Civil Wars – Poison and Wine
I first listened to this duo when they opened for Adele at The Beacon Theater in NYC. Great musicians. Great Voices.
Bon Iver – Calgary

‘Calgary’ is the first single (out on 12″ in July) from Bon Iver’s full length follow up to the widely acclaimed, ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’. The single’s immediately affecting and emotive. If you haven’t heard the earlier Bon Iver music, you are missing something special.
Boy & Bear – Feeding Line

Australian group Boy & Bear’s first new music from their debut album with producer Joe Chiccarelli (The Strokes, White Stripes, The Shins). I suspect they are going to be big.
Coldplay – Every Teardrop is a Waterfall
The very last minute I must throw in the NEW Coldplay song, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall. I can’t stop listening to it!

Written by Berryman / Buckland / Champion / Martin / Allen / Anderson.
The song contains compositional elements of “I Go To Rio” by Peter Allen (1976), written by Peter Allen and Adrienne Anderson.
Produced by Markus Dravs, Dan Green and Rik Simpson.
This is the first iive recorded performance of the Coldplay single 4-June-2011 at the Rock am Ring Festival 2011 in Nuremberg, Germany.
